3/19/26 Allen Iverson

I chose to write a blog about the picture of Allen Iverson stepping over Tyronn Lue because it captures more than just a single play—it represents attitude, confidence, and the spirit of competition. That image has transcended the game itself, becoming a symbol of defiance and self-belief that resonates beyond sports. Iverson’s expression and body language in that moment tell a story of perseverance and individuality, reflecting how he played the game and how he lived his life. Writing about this picture allows me to explore what that moment meant to basketball culture, to Iverson’s legacy, and to fans who saw a statement larger than the score on the court.

As a 9th grader, I love journalism because it gives me a voice and a chance to share stories that matter. Writing articles lets me explore new ideas, meet interesting people, and learn what’s going on in the world. Journalism is exciting because every story is different—one day I might interview a teacher about a new school project, and the next I might cover a big community event. It also helps me build skills that last a lifetime, like writing clearly, thinking critically, and asking good questions. Most of all, journalism connects me to others. It teaches me to listen, to understand different opinions, and to make a difference with my words. Being part of something that informs, inspires, and impacts people makes journalism truly rewarding.
